THE OLD FISH HOUSE.

The Old Fish House was built around the turn of the last century, and was previously owned by the River Dee Salmon Fisheries and used for the repair and storage of their nets and equipment. In the early 70's, local artist and sculptor Tim Jeffs used the top part of the building as his studio.

One of Tim Jeff's most noted works is a carving of John Paul Jones, which is on display in the lounge of the Selkirk Arms Hotel, at the other end of the High Street.

Recently, the fish house was converted into a residence of the highest standard. Externally, the building is conventional and in keeping with the surrounding area. Internally, the layout is in a modern contemporary style with all moden comforts. These include:

The fishouse also enjoys magnificent views of McLellan's Castle and the entire length of the High Street to the Tolbooth. To the rear is "the bonnie Dee" and the Galloway countryside beyond. Come and enjoy.
